When Freddy Lupin’s capricious wish turns him into a werewolf and drops a mischievous moon elf on Earth, Freddy must restore cosmic order before the Earth and Moon collide. The German film version was cut by about 2.5 minutes to get a “No Age Restriction” rating. The uncut version was rated “Not Under 6”. Next is Farkasbőrben (2020). The Great Kennel composed by Ash Gibson Greig, Andrew Craig. Giving it a 7/10, the animation is good and colorful in this fairly simple feature, and since I haven’t seen the first film, I can say that you don’t have to see “100% Wolf”, but it helps. It’s what you’d expect, there are some good laughs here and there, the story is there, very simple, but not quite as high-level as Inside Out 2. The casting works and it doesn’t overdo it, as Jennifer Saunders seems to be having the most fun here, while the rest of the cast traverses the country in pursuit of the play’s troublemaking but benevolent hero on the road to new discoveries. Very heavily influenced by Australian folklore, the magical elements are fun, nothing scary at all, thanks to some slick character animation and production design from Flying Bark Productions, and at 85 minutes, it’s quick and easy. There’s a lot to love about Hulu’s streaming offerings this month – look forward to all-new series premieres and movie favorites to watch at home.
